Elizabeth N. Paulson Regier

Elizabeth N. Paulson Regier, 78, of Newton, died Wednesday (Feb. 9, 2000) at Columbia Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

She was born Sept. 27, 1921, in Newton to Fred Thomas and Zola Mae (Crabtree) Noland. She married Chalmer Paulson April 10, 1941. He preceded her in death Aug. 3, 1956. She married Phillip J. Regier Dec. 26, 1962. He also preceded her in death June 1993.

She was employed by USD 206 transportation for more than 30 years. She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Newton, where she was elder and deacon. She also was member of Remington Area Historical Society and Eastern Star.

Survivors include: one son, Chalmer J. "Jim" Paulson of Newton; one daughter, Mary Ann Gantvoort of Clear Lake, S.D.; three step sons, Don Regier of Newton, John Regier of Hesston and Jerry Regier of Nashville; one step daughter, Carol Fiedler of Newton; half sister, Louise Lorraine French of Troy, Mich.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; and 12 step-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Geneva Anduss; and step-brother, Floyd Louia.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at First United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. James Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Lawns Cemetery in El Dorado.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.

Memorials have been established with Capper's Foundation for Physically and Mentally Handicapped Children in care of the funeral home.
