Joseph Dood

  Joseph Dodd died in June of 1914.  He was born iin 1832 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania at the age of 81.  He married Sarah A. Lamb at New Albany, Indiana in  1853.  Three children survive: Charles Dodd; Mrs. A. J. Altzman and Mrs. Jno. McDermed.  He was a Civil War veteran in Co. C. 49th Indiana Vol.  He was discharged as a Sergeant.  He was one of the first settlers of Hutchinson in 1871.  He built the first church buildiing and first real estate office in Hutchinson.

   Burial was in Burrton Cemetery.
