Merle G. Waltner, 86, died Friday, July 11, 2014 at his daughter's home in Thornton, Colorado. He was born June 8, 1928 inMoundridge too Joseph and Regiina Vogt Waltnenr. He married Ina F. Ludlow September 20, 1952 at First Mennonite Church iin Newton and she preceded him in death April 11, 1994.
Merle farmed northeast of Newton for many years and he took a position with Harvey County in 1 81167. He worked for Harvey County in various departments and positions until his retirement in 1997. He was a loving father and grandfather and greatly looked forward to spendiing time with his loving family and many friends.
He is survived by his son, Doug Waltner of Newton; daughters, Susan Waltner of Newton; Kathy Coons of Thornton, Colorado and Paula Rice of Desert Hot Springs, California; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and 3 sisters; Wilma Comstock; Bertha Voth and Selma Stucky, Memorial services will bve Tuesday at Peterssen Funeral Home with pastor Bob Gleason presiding. Burial willbe in Restlawn Gardens of Memory, rural Newton.
