Linda Diane (Hege) Bemiss

Linda D. Bemiss died on Monday, July 28, at her home in Newton.

Linda was born on Dec. 11, 1950, in Newton to Charles and Minnie (Giersch) Hege. Linda married William Eugene Bemiss on Dec. 14, 1991, in Newton. They were married for 22 years prior to her death. Linda was a very warm, friendly and loving person. She enjoyed baking, cooking, embroidery and crocheting. She did housekeeping and worked in restaurants for many years. She was a member of Hillcrest Community Church.

Linda is survived by her husband: William Bemiss; daughter: Crystal and husband, John Heard; brother: Richard and spouse, Becky Hege; sisters: Mary Zimmer, Delores and spouse, Fred Sexauer, Charlene and spouse, John Riedlinger, Elsie and spouse, Robert Challans, Ruth and spouse, Cris Cole; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Minnie Hege; brothers: Donald and Kenny Hege; and sister: Betty.

Funeral services will be held at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel, 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1. The visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31, from 5 to 9 p.m. The family will greet friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A committal service will be held at the Halstead City Cemetery following the chapel service. A memorial has been set up for the Harry Hynes Hospice of Kansas and Caring Hands Humane Society of Newton.
