Beals, Victor
Halstead Independent
Victor Beals, a worker who had been working as a carpenter at building forms for the new conrete bridge on Main Street, died at the Hospital of erysipilus. A small pimple on his head was scratched and it soon gave evidence of blood poisoning, nine days before his death.
He grew worse, the case absolutely refusing to yield to treatment. The body was taken to the Cheatum undertaking parlors awaiting a brotheer from Larned, Kansas to arrive.
The deceased lived at Emporia, was 29 years old and unmarried. Survivors: several brothers and sisters. Interment was in the City Cemetery.
