Geraldine L. Beacham, 97, passed away Monday, Sept. 8, 2014, at Newton Medical Center, Newton.
She
was born on April 22, 1917, to Paul and Jessie (Mills) Simmons in Dodge
City. Geraldine was united in marriage to Harry R. Beacham on Aug. 15,
1936, in Wichita. He precedes her in death. Geraldine attended
Pilgrim Congregational Church and Eden Baptist Church in Wichita. She
also attended the Baptist Church in Newton. Geraldine was a member of
the Eastern Star in Wichita. She worked at The Fabric Shop in Wichita
for many years.
Left to cherish Geraldine's memory is her son,
James Beacham of Wauneta, Nebraska; daughters, Judith K. Connors of
North Little Rock, Arkansas, Peggy Anderson of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and
Jane Ann Koehn of Meno, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren; and several
great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Jessie; husband, Harry;
grandson, James Beacham Jr.; great-grandson, Phillip Connors; and
sister, Maxine Franzen.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m.
Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, at Schowalter Villa Chapel, Hesston. Burial will
follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton. Visitation will be held on
Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, at Schowalter Villa Chapel, Hesston, at 9:30
a.m. until service time. Memorials are suggested to Schowalter
Villa Good Samaritan Fund, and may be sent in care of Miller-Ott Funeral
