Elaine E (Bachman) Goertzen

 Elaine E. Goertzen, 89, passed away December 12, 2014, at the Bethesda Home of Goessel.

She was born September 13, 1925, in Newton, the daughter of Ernest and Prisca Krehbiel Bachman. She had worked for Hesston State Bank, was a member of Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, Goessel, and the Happy Home Workers. On December 26, 1947, she married Irvin Goertzen at Newton.

She is survived by her husband, Irvin of Goessel; her children, Dick (Arylis) of Beatrice, NE, Keith (Cynde) of Hutchinson, Nancy (Bob) Becker of Stockton, Arlen (Anita) of Colorado Springs, CO, Brad of Goshen, IN; 2 sisters, Florene Wiens of Newton, Kathryn (Don) Penner of North Newton; 1 brother, Don (Helen) Bachman of Hesston; 2 sisters-in-law, Elda Bachman of North Newton, Edna Ruth Graber of Hesston; 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her 3 year old son, Loren; her parents; 1 brother, Dale Bachman; and 1 brother-in-law, Kenneth Wiens.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 15, 2014, at the Bethesda Home Chapel, Goessel. Committal Service will be at 10:00 a.m Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at Alexanderwohl Church Cemetery with a Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, Goessel, with Pastors Linda Ewert and Steve Schmidt officiating.  Memorials may be sent to either the Bethesda Home or the Good Shepherd Hospice, in care of Miller-Ott Funeral Home, Goessel.
