Obituary

   Mrs. Blanche A. Smith passed away at the age of 47, wife of  Albert J. Smith.  She was born in Illinois in 1867 .  She came to Halstead with her parents in Feruary of 1878.  They came to a farm seven miles SW of Halstead with her parents in 1878.  She married Albert J. Smith in 1891.  They had two  children, Mabel A. and child who died in infancy.  

   She was the first graduate at Halstead High School being the only member of the class of 1887.  She was also the first graduate to have a dauaghter who is also a graduate.

   Funeral was at the Presbyterian  Church with burial in the Halstead City Cemetery.
