Dale V. Bachman
Dale V. Bachman, 77, died today (Aug. 21, 1997) at Via Christi Medical Center, St. Francis Campus in Wichita.
He was born April 6, 1920, in rural Moundridge to Ernest and Prisca Krehbiel Bachman. He married Elda Wiens on June 7, 1946, in Newton. She survives of Newton.
He was a maintenance engineer at American Coach and then at Bethel Deaconess Hospital. He was a member of the First Mennonite Church of Newton were he served as a Deacon, trustee and Sunday school superintendent. He also was a board member of the Mennonite Aid Union Insurance. He owned and operated Dales Electric for 20 years. He enjoyed traveling, hiking and camping.
Other survivors include: three sons, John Bachman of Lone Jack, Mo., Marvin Bachman of Newton and Ernie Bachman of Boise, Ind.; one daughter, Ruth Beachey of Bismark, N. D..; one brother, Donovan Bachman of Hesston; three sisters, Florence Wiens and Kathryn Penner, both of Newton, and Elaine Gertzen of Goessel; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services wil be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Mennonite Church with the Revs. Clarence Rempel and Verney Unruh officiating. Burial will be in the Restlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Petersen's Funeral Home. Family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials have been established with the First Mennonnite Church, in care of the funeral home.
