W.E. Beckham Dies At Home In Burrton

W.E. Beckham, a well known resident of Burrton, died Tuesday night after an illness of several weeks.  mr. Beckham came with his family from Warren County, Kentucky, to Kansas in the year 1879, and was identified with the early development of the country as a large land owner and stock buyer.  Of late years he had retired and lived at the home in Burrton where the latter business was carried on with his sons, Earl and Robert.

He leaves a wife and five sons; the eldest, Linwood of Apache, Oklahoma, Earl of Murfreesboro, Arkansas, Rome, Robert, and Clem of Burrton.  The funeral occurred from the home Wednesday at 3 p.m., Rev. Gibbons of Patterson, officiating.
