Obituary

Wilbur A. Unruh, 90 of Hesston, KS, passed away Tuesday evening at Showalter Villa. He was born on March 8, 1925 in Goessel to William Unruh and Linda Enz Unruh. Wilbur married Donna Vogt on August 12, 1978. She preceded him in death on February 1, 1985. He attended Goessel schools through 11th grade when he was drafted into service during WWII. Wilbur served in Civilian Public Service in Idaho as a truck driver and dietitian. Upon returning to Goessel, he farmed with his family the rest of his life until he retired. Wilbur is survived by two stepchildren, Royce Saltzman and Shirley Saltzman as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a brother, Marvin Unruh of North Newton, KS, a sister, Margaret Funk of Marion, KS, and a sister-in-law, Joan Unruh of McPherson, KS. Wilbur was preceded in death by a brother, Waldo Unruh, and a sister, Elma Banman.

The funeral service will be held at Hesston Mennonite Church on Tuesday, November 10, at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing at 10:00 AM prior to the funeral. Memorials can be designated for Hesston Mennonite Church and the Showalter Villa, in care of Miller-Ott Funeral Home, Hesston, KS.
