Robert E. Baker (1922 - 2015)
Obituary
Robert E. Baker passed away Saturday,
Oct. 10, at the Presbyterian manor in Newton.
Bob was born to Thomas and Nelle Baker
on Oct. 3, 1922, and grew up on the Baker farm east of Elbing. He
attended Fairmont grade school, and graduated from Whitewater High
School in 1941.
Bob married Betty Dilley on Dec. 31,
1944. To this marriage two sons were born. Surviving are sons Wilford
Jay of Wichita and Donald Wayne and Cheryl of Tulsa, grandchildren
Chris Baker of Tulsa, Gayle and Alex Marban of Anchorage, Alaska,
Mitch Baker of Tulsa and great-grandchildren Haven and Dominic Marban
of Anchorage, and one sister, Natalie Neal Lattimore of Newton.
His wife, Betty, his parents Tom and
Nelle Baker, and siblings Louise Jackson and Hugh Baker preceded him
in death.
Bob was a member of the Central
Community Church in Wichita.
Visitation for Robert will be Monday,
Oct. 12, between 6 and 8 p.m. at the Baker Funeral Home in Peabody.
Burial will be at the Peabody Cemetery at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13
with a memorial services at the Central Community Church, 6100 W.
Maple St., Wichita.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the
Presbyterian Manor of Newton or to Central Community Church or to a
charity of your choice are suggested. Beaker Funeral Home of Peabody
is in charge or service.
