W. Donald Brown
MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. - W. Donald Brown,
76, a retired aerospace quality control inspector, died Saturday
(Jan. 13, 2007) at Cape Canaveral Hospital in Florida. He was born
and grew up in Newton. He moved to Brevard County in 1965 from
Newton. He worked at Kennedy Space Center for both the Apollo and
Space Shuttle missions as a quality control inspector, where he
received several awards for his work and dedication. He was a U.S.
Army veteran, and a member of the Merritt Island Elks and the
American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years,
Patricia Sechler Brown of Merritt Island; children, Dawn Marie Hosmer
of Newton, Byron Don (Frank) Brown of Stone Mountain, Ga., Rebecca
Kay Leeuw of South Africa, and Bradley Wayne Brown of Merritt Island;
10 grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren, with two more on the
way.
He was preceded in death by his
parents, W. Don Brown and Doris Sawyers Brown, and his sister Marilyn
Brown Zielke.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m.
Wednesday, with the viewing starting at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at
Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home in Merritt Island.
