Laurence F. Becker
MOUNDRIDGE - Laurence F. Becker, 89, of
Moundridge, died Sunday (Jan. 28, 2007) at Mercy Hospital in
Moundridge. He was born July 10, 1917, in McPherson County, the son
of Fred P. and Amanda (Johnson) Becker. He was a lifetime area
resident and dairy farmer. He belonged to the Gospel Church of God in
Christ, Mennonite in Moundridge. On Feb. 18, 1940, he married Ethel
J. Wiggers in Hesston. She died on Nov. 21, 2005. Survivors include:
a son, Roger G. Unruh of Galva; three brothers, Chester Becker of
San Luis Obispo, Calif., Maynard Becker of Branson, Mo., and Gene
Becker of Silver Springs, Nev.; five sisters, Elizabeth Koehn and
Verbie Heppner, both of Moundridge, Bertha Wedel of Galva, Joan Unruh
of Bancroft, S.D., and Phyllis Koehn of West Point, Miss.; seven
grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother,
Dayton Becker; and two sisters, Zelma Koehn and Vada Heppner.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.
Friday at Gospel Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, in Moundridge
with Ministers Doyle Johnson, Dale Koehn and Dale Becker officiating.
Burial will be in Lone Tree Church
Cemetery in rural Galva.
Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m.
Thursday with family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Moundridge
Funeral Home.
