Anita Rosaline Berends
KS_Newton -- Anita Rosaline Berends,
86, died Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Asbury Park in Newton.
She was born on June 5, 1926, at
Eskridge to Lester R. and Sarah (Bryant) Bullock. She married Marvin
Berends in August of 1947. He survives of the home.
Anita and Marvin lived in Newton prior
to moving to Walton in 1993. Anita was a loving wife, mother, sister
and grandmother. She enjoyed doing word find books and embroidery.
Anita is survived by her husband,
Marvin; two daughters, Kay Berends of Walton and Alice L. Barnes of
Myrtle Beach, SC. She is also survived by two grandchildren, and
numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother,
Ralph and his wife, Suzie Bullock of Lawrence.
She is preceded in death by her
parents, and two brothers, Oran J. Bullock and Gerald Bullock.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m.
Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with
Pastor Peter Ostrander presiding. Visitation will be 3 to 9 p.m.
Tuesday at Petersen Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends
from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Burial will be in the Walton Cemetery.
