Florene Bergman
Florene Bergman, 70, died Saturday
(Sept. 28, 2002) at Newton Medical Center. She was born Jan. 20,
1932, to Peter B. and Elizabeth (Jantz) Unruh in Meno, Okla. They
preceded her in death. She married Wenley Bergman Aug. 3, 1952, in
Meno. He survives of the home. She was a member of Peace Valley
Mennonite Church in rural Lehigh and attended First Mennonite Church
in Newton. She was an avid collector of dolls and had an extensive
collection of Liardo porcelain figurines. She enjoyed caring for her
houseplants and outdoor flowers. She and her husband recently
celebrated their 50-year anniversary.
Other survivors include: a son, Douglas
Bergman of Olathe; a daughter, Stephanie Firner of Wichita; four
sisters, Elvera Jantz of North Newton, Dorothy Koehn of Oklahoma
City, Virgie Koehn of Newton and Deloris Stevens of Denison, Texas;
and six grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by: two
brothers, Harold Unruh and Melvin Unruh; and a grandson, Ryan Skyler
Bergman.
Visitation will be from 9 a. m. to 9 p.
m. Tuesday with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p. m. at
Petersen Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m.
Wednesday at First Mennonite Church with Pastor Clarence Rempel
officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with
First Mennonite Church in care of the funeral home.
