Obituary

Arlene Molzen, 94, died Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.

She was born Nov. 29, 1919, in Ashton to Raymond F. and Lieu (Pickett) Sawyer. On Dec. 16, 1945, she married Jack E. Molzen, and he preceded her in death on June 9, 1993.

Arlene was a member of the South Haven and Hesston United Methodist Churches. She was a member of Friendly Circle Club and EHU. Arlene was a homemaker and farm wife and a loving mother and wife to her husband and sons.

After her retirement she volunteered at Newton Medical Center, The Sumner Regional Medical Center and Schowalter Villa Gift Shop. She enjoyed spending time outside gardening.

Arlene is survived by her sons: Robert "Bob" Molzen and Richard Molzen, both of Hesston.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Molzen; and brother, Herbert A. Sawyer.

A celebration of Arlene's life will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at Schowalter Villa Chapel, 200 W. Cedar in Hesston, with Pastor Keith Schadel presiding. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Rose Hill Cemetery in South Haven.

Memorials are suggested to Schowalter Villa North Skilled Nursing unit in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
