Obituary

Keith L. Jolliff went to be with his Lord and Savior in the early morning hours of Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at Asbury Park in Newton. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Keith was born Feb. 27, 1931, in Wichita to Leslie and Laurel Jolliff. They preceded him in death. On April 9, 1956, Keith married the love of his life, JoAnn Cochenour, in Wichita. He was a devoted member of the Salem United Methodist Church in Newton.

Keith grew up in Wichita, where he graduated from North High School in 1950. He enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served aboard the USS Okanogan and the USS Satyr during the Korean War. After his discharge from the Navy, Keith came back to Wichita.

He moved to Newton in 1958, working for Meadow Gold Dairy delivering milk to homes throughout the Newton area. Keith later went to work for the State of Kansas as a Warehouse Examiner, auditing grain elevators throughout Kansas. After retiring from the state, Keith purchased and operated a retail liquor store.

Keith was a member of the Newton Jaycees, the Newton Chamber of Commerce, served on the Board of Trustees at Salem Church and is a member of the American Legion Post in Newton. Keith looked forward to the monthly lunches with his North High classmates in Wichita.

Keith is survived by his wife, JoAnn; brother, Dean (Linda); sister, Hazel; three sons, Jay, Bruce (Lori), Rusty (Lisa); four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Keith's life will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at Salem United Methodist Church in Newton. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. at Wichita Park Cemetery in Wichita.

Visitation will be Monday from 1 until 8 p.m. at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet guests from 6:30 until 8 p.m.

A memorial has been established with Salem United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. Contributions may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, KS 67114.
