Obituary
Stanley R. Koehn, 78, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at
Halstead Health and Rehab in Halstead.
He was born April 8, 1935, in Halstead to Enoch D. and Anna
(Schmidt) Koehn. On May 27, 1956, he married Jennette L. Jost in Hillsboro, and
she survives of the home.
Stanley was a member of Eden Church of God in Christ,
Mennonite, rural Burns. He was a retired farmer and stockman. Following his
retirement from farming, Stanley ran the road grader for the local townships
for many years. He greatly enjoyed farming and watching the crops mature and
grow. His family was very important to him, and Stanley enjoyed spending time
with his loving family and many friends. He especially enjoyed time spent with
his grandchildren who were very dear to him.
He is survived by his wife, Jennette of the home; sons, Leon
and his wife, Jenny of Potwin and Keith and his wife, Julie of Burns; one
brother, Glen Koehn of Texline, Texas; three sisters, Dorothy Jantz of Burns,
Edna Koehn of Newton, and Pansy Koehn of Burns. He also is survived by four
grandchildren, Tyler, Melanie, Colby and Colt.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents and siblings,
Caroline, Agnes, Jesse, Evelyn, Neva, Wilma and Jeralyn.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2013,
at Eden Mennonite Church in Burns, with presiding minister Roland Koehn.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Petersen Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to Gospel Tract and Bible Society of
Moundridge or Harden Hospice, in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
