Obituary
Dean Hill, 72, died Monday (July 4,
2016) at the Robert J. Dole VA Hospital in Wichita. He was born June
28, 1944, in Hillsboro, to Adam E. and Helen (Shiroky) Hill.
Dean was a Veteran of the US Army,
serving during the Vietnam Era. Following his time in the Army, Dean
worked at the AMPI Creamery in Hillsboro for a time. He also ran a
lawnmower repair business out of his home for many years, serving and
repairing mowers for people all over the Newton area.
Dean also worked for a time in the
maintenance department at Newton High School where he made many
friends he has kept in contact with through the years. Dean could be
found many times helping his brother Charles out at the former Hill's
66 on East First Street in Newton.
Family was important to Dean and he
looked forward to spending time with his siblings, nieces and nephews
and many friends.
He is survived by his sisters: Wilma
Loewen of Wichita and Loretta Holub of Marion; brothers: Marvin Hill
of Hillsboro, Adam Hill of Newton and Perry Hill of Newton. He is
also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Dean is preceded in death by his
parents and brother, Charles E. Hill.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m.
Thursday (July 7, 2016) at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with The
Reverend Aaron Filipek presiding. Burial will follow in Greenwood
Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m.
Wednesday evening at Petersen Funeral Home with the family receiving
friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
