Gary L. Blankenship
Gary L. Blankenship, 67, printer at
Prestige Printing in Hesston, died Wednesday (Dec. 4, 2002) at
Wichita Clinic-Bethel in Newton. He was born Oct. 3, 1935, to Ernest
Merle and Velma (Jain) Blankenship in Wellington. They preceded him
in death. He married Retha Strait May 27, 1955, in Wichita. She
survives of Newton. He served in the Air National Guard. He was a
member of the Masonic Lodge and the Kansas York Rites. He enjoyed
fishing, playing Bingo and going to the casinos.
Other survivors include: three
daughters, Kathy Lusk of Mulvane, and Monica Stovall and Lori Weis,
both of Newton; a brother, Benny Blankenship of Wichita; three
sisters, Treva Evans of Wichita, Myrla Rohling of Prague, Okla., Mary
Sands of West Plains, Mo.; six grandchildren ; and two
great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9 a. m. to 3 p.
m. Saturday and from noon to 9 p. m. Sunday at Petersen Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 2 p. m. Monday
at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Keating of First
United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with
the American Lung Association and the American Heart Association,
both in care of the funeral home.
