Obituary

Ethmer T. "Billie" Dickson, 98, died July 29, 2016, at Newton Presbyterian Manor. She was born Oct. 23, 1917, at Douglass, Oklahoma, to Julius and Bessie (Lesser) Hueppelsheuser. She was married to Clarence Dickson and he preceded her in death.

Billie was a longtime member of First Nazarene Church, a homemaker and loving mother. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing, making many of her own dresses through the years. Billie also enjoyed tending her gardens and flower beds and being outside. Her family was important to her and she enjoyed spending time with her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters: Jackie Dickson and Judith Krell, both of Newton; three grandsons: Ron and Penny of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Chris and Montse of Barcelona, Spain, and Brian of Dallas; and one granddaughter, Nancy Krell of McPherson. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren.

Billie is preceded in death by her parents, husband, seven brothers and four sisters.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday (Aug. 5, 2016) at First Church of the Nazarene in Newton, with Pastor Rick Dages presiding. Burial will follow in Restlawn Gardens of Memory, rural Newton. The casket will be open from 9:15 a.m. to service time at the church on Friday.

Memorials are suggested to Newton Presbyterian Manor or First Church of the Nazarene in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
