GOESSEL - Grimm, Clyde Richard, 81, passed away after an illness on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at the Bethesda Home, Goessel. Richard was born on a farm Southeast of Conway Springs, Kan. on March 5, 1932, the son of Ralph and Laura MayBelle McIntyre Grimm. He attended Beaver Creek Country School, District 89 until the sixth grade when the teacher was drafted during WWII. He then attended schools in Conway Springs where he graduated in 1950. Richard attended Wichita State University for four years, after which he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served for two years. Richard had been a salesman for the Singer Company and later worked as an Engineering Technician for the Kansas Dept. of Transportation. While working there he was seriously injured on the job following which he was permantently disabled. Richard was a voracious reader and continued his interest in many diverse areas. His main interests were in military history, ancient history, and the inter-workings of his many cars. He is survived by brothers, Dean of Parker, Colo., Don of Goleta, Calif.; sister, Lois Ward-Hendrix of Wichita. Preceded in death by parents and brothers, Dale, Glenn, Wayne.
