Marlene Joan Reiff
Obituary
Marlene "Joan" Reiff, 84, passed away Sunday (Nov.
17) in Abilene.
She was born Nov. 16, 1929, in Newton, the daughter of Edwin
F. and Elsie K. (Carter) Krause. Growing up in the area, she attended local
schools and graduated from Abilene High School with the class of 1947. On Feb.
19, 1948, she was married to Marvin D. Reiff in Abilene. He survives. In 1959,
the couple moved to Albuquerque, N.M., to live until retiring in 1993 and
returning to Abilene.
She is survived by two daughters, Debra Reiff, Coos Bay,
Ore., and Kelly Schrader, Abilene; two sons, Dan Reiff, Abilene, and Bill
Reiff, Abilene; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday (Nov. 22) at
the Abilene First Christian Church, with Pastors Jason Kohler and Mark Stanger
officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodbine Cemetery. The family will
receive friends 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 21) at the Danner Funeral
Home.
The family suggests memorial contributions in her name be
given to the Wounded Warrior Project or a charity of the donor's choice . They
may be left at the church the day of the service or left at or sent in care of
