Obituary

Hugo R. Wiederstein, 82, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, at his Newton residence.

Hugo was born Nov. 16, 1930, in Hillsboro to Leo and Martha (Reiswick) Wiederstein. On Sept. 23, 1951, he married Louise "Ann" Brownsworth in Loyal, Okla., and she survives of the home.

Hugo was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Newton. He was a retired truck driver. Hugo enjoyed spending time with his loving family and friends and greatly looked forward to family gatherings.

Hugo is survived by his wife, Ann of the home; sons, Michael and Annie of Tulsa, Okla., Robert and Karen of Valley Center, and Thomas and PoOak of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; brother, Alfred of Shattuck, Okla.; sister, Alice Mullins of Kansas City, Mo.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant children, Connie and Gary; brothers, Ed and Allen; and sisters, Louise Funk and Ruby Yauk.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at Zion Lutheran Church in Newton, with The Rev. Aaron Filipek presiding. Burial will be in the Hillsboro Lutheran Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2013. The family will greet friends and family during their lunch hour following the service at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church or Asbury Park, in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
