Obituary
David R. Baumann, 68, of Newton, died
on Monday (Oct. 3, 2016) at the Newton Medical Center, Newton.
He was born Sept. 3, 1948, in Newton,
to Frances E. (Warr) and John F. Baumann.
David enjoyed hunting and fishing,
along with spending time with his family.
He enlisted into the United States Navy
on March 22, 1968, in Wichita, and separated on Sept. 29, 1969, in
Birmington, Washington.
Upon his return to the Newton
community, David was employed for Wichita School District #259 as a
Supervisor for the garage department. He retired in November 2007,
after 27 years of service.
David was a member of the local V.F.W.
# 971 and the American Legion Post #2, both of Newton.
Preceding him in death were his parents
and two brothers, Chris and Herman Baumann.
Survivors include his son, John Baumann
and grandson, Christopher Baumann of Newton; daughter Amanda and
Tracy Winter, Ocean City, Maryland and grandchildren Zoe, Sydney and
Bodhi; brother Bradley and wife Laura Baumann of Newton; four nieces
and one nephew.
A Memorial service will be at 5:00 p.m.
Friday (Oct. 7, 2016), at the American Legion Post #2 in Newton.
There will be no burial at this time,
cremation has been effected.
