Violet Ruth Koehn

Violet Ruth Koehn of St. Helens died April 11, 2008, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland. She was 86. 

Violet Koehn was born Sept. 13, 1921, in Lyons, Kan. 

A homemaker, she also held numerous jobs throughout her life including professional driver, health care, sales, the insurance business, food service, and interior decorating. She retired in 1986. 

Residing in the area for 13 years, she was a member of the Methodist Church and Warren Community Fellowship. 

Passionate about volunteering, she was active in many organizations including the Republican Party, American Legion, VFW, and grange. 

Among the other things she enjoyed were reading, traveling and sightseeing in Oregon, and houseplants. 

She is survived by her husband Virgil Koehn of St. Helens; son John Koehn of White Salmon, Wash.; daughter Carolyn Koop of St. Helens; grandchildren: Connie Baker of Portland, Mike Koop of Talent, Sam Koehn of Camas, Wash., and Laura Koehn of Yakima, Wash.; six great-grandchildren; brother Dale Fundenberger of Sedgwick, Kan.; and sisters Virginia Hershberger of Newton, Kan., and Margaret Swindler of Salina, Kan. She was preceded in death by her son Dan Koehn, and brother Glenn Fundenberger of Ocean Shores, Wash. 

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19, at Warren Community Fellowship in Warren. 

Interment will be in Klamath County. 

Memorial gifts may be made to Warren Community Fellow-ship Missions or the Ronald McDonald House in Portland.
