Hayes, John Gerald

The Newton Kansan

John Gerald Hayes

John Gerald Hayes, 65, died March 23, 2013, at Newton Medical Center in Newton.
He was born on Dec. 9, 1947, to Helen Blanche (Cade) and Orfis Glen Hayes in Newton.

John married Frances J. Ainsworth on May 14, 1965, in El Dorado. He held a church membership with St. Mary's Catholic Church of Newton.

John will be remembered and cherished as a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend. Most of us will remember him as a hardworking man! He began his lifelong trait in 1965 as a floor-covering installer, which he took pride in and did to perfection. He passed this amazing trait onto his oldest son, who will carry it on in his name. Through this, he gave everything he could and had to his family, and left very little for himself.

He will leave us all with a memory of his amazing work ethic, a sense of humor that is beyond unique, an infallible honesty, and never failed to make a lasting impression with everyone he met. One of his signature traits was giving nicknames that were individualized to those he loved!

We love you "Johnny Good Time."
