Obituary

Doris J. Regier, 54, passed away Saturday (Jan. 21, 2017) at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, after a brief struggle with breast cancer.

Doris was born March 19, 1962, the fifth of twelve children to Charles and Esther (Lutz) Hoelscher. She was married June 15, 1991, to Warren Regier, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Newton. Warren preceded her in death.

She is survived by her dearly-loved grandson, Noah Regier of Goessel; and step-daughter Amber Regier. She is also survived by her mother Esther Hoelscher of Walton; and eleven siblings: Terry (Doug) Wolford of Overland Park, Susie (Leroy) Koehn of Newton, Larry (Katie) Hoelscher of Newton, Debbie (Jeff) Brust of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Connie (Rick) Campbell of Canton, Shari (Bob) McCall of Newton, Chuck (Vicki) Hoelscher of Piedmont, Oklahoma, Jim (Sheila) Hoelscher of Walton, Mike (Donna) Hoelscher of Derby, Doug (Megan) Hoelscher of Shawnee and Mary (John) Dickinson of Omaha, Nebraska.

Doris was a loving aunt to many cherished nieces and nephews. She had a very generous heart and always found ways to share all that she had. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family and especially caring for Noah. Doris was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Newton.

A Memorial Mass of the Resurrection is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday (Jan. 26, 2017) at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Newton. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 25, 2017) at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held between 3 and 9 p.m. on Wednesday (Jan. 25, 2017) at Petersen Funeral Home. A committal will be held following the Memorial Mass at St. Mary's Cemetery in Newton.
