Luella Mae Bitikofer
Obituary
HESSTON — Luella Mae Bitikofer, 91, passed away on Saturday
(May 19, 2012) at Schowalter Villa.
She was born on July 24, 1920, in Cass County, Mo., the
third of seven children to Edward and Nancy (Hershberger) Zook. On Jan. 17,
1943, she married Henry Bitikofer in rural Garden City, Mo. He passed away on
Nov. 27, 2006.
She was a member of the Whitestone Mennonite Church. Her
last years were spent visiting with family and friends, reading and putting
together many puzzles while living at Schowalter Villa.
She is survived by daughters, LaVera Ollek of Wichita,
Evelyn and Jim Zook of Newton, Melva and Wendell Janke of Topeka, Anita and
John Schimmel of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Linda and Larry Miles of Wichita.
She has six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren,
10 stepgreat-grandchildren and 10 stepgreat-great-grandchildren. Surviving
brothers are Alvin Zook of Garden City, Mo., Allen Zook of Ohio, Marvin Zook of
Hesston and John Zook of Goshen, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two
sisters, Mary Erb and Erma Zimmerman; one son-in-law, Gary Ollek; and one
foster grandson, David.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today (May
22, 2012) at Schowalter Villa Chapel in Hesston. Funeral service will be at 10
a.m. Wednesday (May 23, 2012) at Schowalter Villa Chapel in Hesston. Burial
will follow at Spring Valley Cemetery in Canton.
