Obituary

Robert Everoski, 70, died on Monday (Feb. 20, 2017) at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Robert was born on May 18, 1946, to Chester and Alice (Kasotsky) Everoski in Glenn Cove, New York.

Robert moved to Kansas to attend the College of Emporia where he participated in track and field. He later obtained a master's degree from Emporia State University.

Throughout his life he had many interests: geologist for the oil industry, math teacher at Wichita State University, astronomer, coach, traditional television programs of the 50s and 60s and coin collector. He was recently known for starting and competing in the annual Halstead Open and Master's Track and Field event. Robert actively participated in track and field events for almost 56 years of his life.

He is survived by children, Ryan and Robert Everoski; former wife, Marjorie Everoski; and siblings, Dick Everoski of Long Island, New York, and Patricia Greenstone of Orlando, Florida.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Alice Everoski.

Funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday (Feb. 24, 2017) at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton. Burial will occur following the service in rural Halstead. A visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 23, 2017) at the funeral home, with the family present between 6 to 8 p.m. to greet friends.
