Obituary

HESSTON — Alfred L. Yoder, 83, passed away on Tuesday (April 3, 2012) at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.

He was born on April 7, 1928, in Drexel, Mo., the son of Alfred Loyd and Zella Slayden Yoder. He was an instructor at Hesston College until his retirement in 2005.

On Aug. 10, 1952, he married Irene Hershberger in Garden City, Mo. She survives.

Alfred was a member of Hesston Mennonite Church.

He is survived by daughter, Melody Meyer of Chicago; brother, James D. Yoder of Hesston; and two grandchildren, Zachary and Sarah Meyer.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hesston Mennonite Church, with Pastor John Murray officiating. The body has been donated to KU Medical Center for research.

Burial of ashes will be at a later date at the Clearfork Cemetery in Garden City, Mo.
