Obituary

Charley Voth passed away on Monday (March 12, 2012) at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.

He was born on March 25, 1928, near Goessel to P.C. and Mary (Schmidt) Voth. He attended Good Hope Grade School and graduated from Goessel High School in 1946. He spent many days working on the family farm.

Charley married Lillian Unruh on Nov. 2, 1951, and they recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. They were blessed with three children: Ron, Steve and Jana.

Family was important to Charley, and they enjoyed many family vacations together. He also enjoyed bowling, snow skiing and roller skating. His grandchildren also were a joy to him, and he loved being around all of them and watching them participate in their events and activities.

Charley worked at Hesston Corp. in Hesston for 20 years and was later employed by H & H Tool in Wichita for another 20 years. His other employment included Full Vision, Excel Industries and Eades Tool Company.

Charley is survived by his wife, Lillian of Hesston; sons, Ron (LouAnn) of Halstead and Steve (Wynette) of Walton; daughter, Jana (Mike) Voth of Wichita; sister, Irma Schroeder of Goessel; and seven grandchildren.

Charley was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Albert "Steve," Waldo and Wilbert; and sisters, Olga Dester and Ella Jantz.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church with a private burial.
