Diane Starlene Binns LaGesse, 57, died on Friday (April 8, 2011) at her home.
She was born on Dec. 15, 1953, in Scott City, the daughter of James and Norma Binns. She married John LaGesse on May 21, 1972, in Scott City and later moved to Newton.
They had two daughters, Jenny and Amy. In 2000, Diane and John moved to Lawrence, where Diane was employed at Bath and Body Works. Diane enjoyed trips to San Francisco with John, visiting and traveling with her daughters across the country and margaritas with friends. Diane was a caring daughter, sister, friend, devoted wife and a loving mother. She will be missed by all.
Survivors include: her husband, John; daughters, Jenny LaGesse, and Amy LaGesse and husband Chris Hamblin; her mother, Norma Binns; stepfather, Warren Sherwin; and a brother, Tony Binns, and wife, Leanna.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lawrence Free Methodist Church in Lawrence.
Inurnment will take place at Scott City Cemetery in Scott City at a later date.
The family will receive friends at the reception following the funeral service at Lawrence Free Methodist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Douglas County Visiting Nurses, Rehabilitation and Hospice Care and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary 120 W. 13th St. Lawrence, KS 66044.
