Elizabeth K. "Betty" Regier, 93, died on Monday (Feb. 7, 2011) at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.
She was born on Aug. 14, 1917, in Muncie, Ind., to Fred V. and Flossie Mae (Paul) Kinzie. On June 14, 1940, she married Jacob J. Regier. He preceded her in death.
Betty was a member of Garden Community Church in rural Harvey County. She was a retired registered nurse, working at various hospitals and nursing homes.
Betty was a minister's wife and enjoyed music and playing the organ. Family was very important to her, and she enjoyed being a homemaker, gardening and tending flowers.
She greatly looked forward to spending time with her loving family and many friends.
She is survived by one son, Ronald and his wife Cynthia Regier of Olathe; two daughters, Sharon and James Epp of Des Moines, Iowa, and Beverlee and Ronald Singer of Parker; two sisters-in-law, Helen Hanes of Ruston, La., and Elfriede Stoesz of Mountain Lake, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband, sister Lois Daniels and one great-grandson Seth Wiens.
Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton and 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Schowalter Villa Chapel with the family greeting friends at the Schowalter Villa Chapel.
A private family graveside service will be at Garden Community Church Cemetery in rural Harvey County. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Schowalter Villa Chapel with Pastor Gary Janzen presiding.
Memorials may be left with Schowalter Villa in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
