Obituary: Unruh, Paul C: Harvey County Genealogical Database

Paul C. Unruh, 84, died on Wednesday (Jan. 19, 2011) at Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita.

He was born on Sept. 7, 1926, in Goessel to Jacob E. and Hannah Wedel Unruh.

He was a farmer and worked for AGCO/Hesston Corp. in Hesston for 30 years. He was a member of the Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church and the church choir, and was a past member of the Kansas Mennonite Men's Choir.

He married Phyllis Duerksen on Oct. 26, 1950, in Goessel. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Merrill (Andrea) of Goessel and Lyle (Lola) of Hillsboro; two daughters, Annette (Dennis) Quiring of Newton and Radene Unruh of Goessel; two brothers, Roy E. of Peabody and Harold of Newton; two sisters, Eleanora Goertzen of Goessel and Janet (Roy) Kaufman of Moundridge; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Willard and C. Howard.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church Chapel in Goessel.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Jan. 29 at Alexanderwohl Cemetery with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in Goessel. Pastors Linda Ewert and Steve Schmidt will officiate.
