Obituary

Helen D. Keller, 96, died Monday (April 24, 2017) at Halstead Health and Rehabilitation in Halstead.

She was born, Oct. 30, 1920, in Macon Township, Harvey County, to William J. and Anna A. (Nolting) Keller.

She worked in various capacities for Mobil Exxon, retiring in 1979 after 28 years.

She had a passion for bowling and was an accomplished bowler. She loved nature and animals. She was also a faithful caregiver to her mother until her passing.

She kept herself busy, acknowledging birthdays and sending cards to her 94 nieces and nephews until they reached age 18.

She is survived by nine nieces and nephews; 20 great-nieces and great-nephews; 38 great-great nieces and nephews and 27 great-great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Sylvester Keller; and sisters, Eldred Hahn and Virginia Yeast.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday (May 5, 2017) at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead, with Pastor Ed Blanchette presiding.

Burial will follow at Halstead Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Caring Hands Humane Society or Good Shepherd Hospice, in care of Kaufman Funeral Home.
