Mary Lou Staerkel
OBITUARY
CHAMPAIGN — Mary Lou Staerkel, 90, of Champaign passed away
peacefully on Thursday (May 31, 2012) at Clark-Lindsey Village, Urbana.
She was born in Newton, Kan., on April 19, 1922, the
daughter of Albert and Pearl Plumb. She was the widow of William M. Staerkel,
who passed away Dec. 10, 1987. Her son, Scott Staerkel, and sister, June
Slater, also predeceased her.
She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and
grandmother.
MaryLou is survived by her son, Richard; daughter-in-law,
Karen; and grandson, Bryan William, all of Wilmington, N.C.
The family would like to thank her special caregivers,
Sharon Payne and Brenda Good.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on June 7 at
Morgan Memorial Home, 1304 Regency Drive West, Savoy. The Rev. Dr. Rick Snyder
will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery, Champaign.
The family will see friends from 10 a.m. until service time.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be
made to the Staerkel Planetarium or Parkland College Foundation.
