Obituary

Larry D. Sweasy, 62, died peacefully on Tuesday (Aug. 9, 2011) at his Newton residence.

He was born on Oct. 14, 1948, in Wichita to Lyle and Anna (Andrasek) Sweasy. Larry was a sheet metal mechanic. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time outdoors. He also enjoyed sunrises, working in his yard and on woodworking projects. Larry greatly looked forward to spending time with his loving family and friends.

He is survived by his son, Scott, and his wife, Leslie Sweasy, of Newton; and two sisters, Brenda Pfortmiller of Newton, and Vicky and her husband, Bill Auman, of North Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel in Newton. A committal service will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Ransom Cemetery in Ransom.

Memorials may be left with the Wounded Warriors Project, in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
