Lois M. Swender, 96, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017.
She was born to Ruby Lewis and Mary Blanche (Marple) Green in Kincaid on September 9, 1920. She was an elementary school secretary for USD 259.
Lois is survived by daughters, Connie Braun and Rita (Ed) Johnson; sons, Donald (Sue) Swender and Richard (Terry) Swender; eight grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sister, Arlene Flanagan; sister-in-law, Beulah Green; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lowell Swender; one brother; one son-in-law; one brother-in-law; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at Cochran Mortuary, 1411 N. Broadway, Wichita. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 29, 2017, at Kechi United Methodist Church, 4533 E. 61st St. N., Kechi, KS 67067. Interment will follow at Kechi Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Asbury Park Retirement Community, 200 SW 14th St., Newton KS 67114 and/or Kechi United Methodist Church.
