Obituary

Helen A. Lehmann, 100, died Friday (Sept. 30, 2011) at Newton Presbyterian Manor.

She was born on Sept. 30, 1911, in Newton to Harvey and Ruth (Huffman) Unruh. She married David K. Lehmann in 1936, and he preceded her in death in 1980.

Helen was a member of First United Methodist Church in Newton and a member of the Deborah circle of the church. She retired from the production department of The Newton Kansan newspaper.

Helen enjoyed photography and was a member of the Newton and Wichita Camera Clubs. She also enjoyed gardening and flowers and spending time with her loving family and many friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Reta Buller of Madison, Miss.; son, David E. (Gene) Lehmann of Luray; brother, Jack Unruh of Newton; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and one grandson.

Visitation was from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, with family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. today at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.

Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church Deborah Circle, in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
