Wilma Stucky, 86, died on Thursday (Dec. 29, 2011) in Whitewater. She was born on July 23, 1925, in Whitewater. She was raised in Whitewater and attended school there. Following high school, she took teacher training at Bethel College and taught one-room school for seven years. Following Harry's death, Wilma served for five years at Bethlehem House in El Dorado, supporting and encouraging unwed mothers. In 1999, Wilma moved to Mid Town Towers in Newton, where she began the restful season of her life.

Wilma is survived by a daughter, Beverly and husband, Allan Lister of rural Newton; a son, Elwyn and wife, Cherry of Whitewater; three brothers, Willard Thiessen, David Thiessen and Floyd Thiessen; sisters, Edna Flora, Esther Stucky, Selma Entz and Lois Frey; two grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
