Obituary
Esther M. Kater, 94, died Friday (June 4, 2010) at Kidron Bethel
Health Care in North Newton.
She was born on Aug. 12, 1915, in Minneapolis, Kan., to A.G.
and Helen (Wesley) Dunham
On Oct. 24, 1937, she married Edward Kater in Newton, and he
survives.
Esther was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in
Newton. She was a caring homemaker.
She greatly looked forward to spending time with her loving
family and friends, especially her children, grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband; daughters, Carol Gronau of
Newton, Donna Krehbiel of Whitewater, and Arlene Anthony of Baxter Springs;
son, Larry Kater of Pratt; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A burial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Greenwood
Cemetery with Chaplain Debbie Schmidt of Kidron Bethel Village presiding.
Memorials may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or
Kidron Bethel Village in care of Petersen Funeral Home in Newton.
