Dorothea L. Cain, 86, died Thursday (April 1, 2010) in Newton.

She was a longtime Whitewater resident.

Dorothea had worked as a secretary for Beech Aircraft, was a farm wife and served as secretary for Rural Water District No. 7 in Butler County from 1983 through 2001.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Palmyra Baptist Church with visitation from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lamb Funeral Home in Whitewater.

She was preceded in death by her husband, A.B. Cain, in 1998.

She is survived by a son, Bill, and wife Kathy of Orlando, Fla.; a sister, Jewell Lockhart of Maxia, Texas; two granddaughters, Deanna Swafford and Kristin Cain; a great-grandson, Hunter Swafford; and nieces and nephews.

A memorial has been established with Wheat State Manor in Whitewater.
