Donna Burks
CERESCO, Neb. - Donna Burks, 69, of Ceresco, died Wednesday
(March 24, 2010) at her home.
She was born on April 6, 1941, in Blackwell, Okla., to
Eugene and Dorothy (Lile) Roberts. She grew up in Newton and graduated from
high school in Newton.
Donna was a longtime employee at Casey's in Ceresco. She was
a hard-working person who also loved to read. Setting goals for herself and
achieving them was a source of satisfaction and pride for her. She was a
friendly and outgoing person. Once you came to know Donna, you knew you had a
friend.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Burks of Ceresco;
children, Darrel Burks of Lawrence, Connie (Merlen) Borgialli of Marquette,
Mich., Lori (Michael) Wech of Nixa, Mo., Larry (Kathryn) Burks of Omaha, Neb.,
and Steven (Jennifer) Burks of Gilbert, Ariz.; brothers, Jack (Joy) Roberts of
Wichita, Mike (Dianna) Roberts of Newton, Max (Rose) Roberts of Newton and
Jimmy Roberts of Wichita; sister, Patty Briar of Newton; eight grandchildren;
and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev.
Chuck Rager officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 to 8
p.m. today.
