Kathryn 'Kay' Ruth Brown
WICHITA - Kathryn "Kay" Ruth Brown, 66, died
Tuesday (Jan. 26, 2010) in Wichita.
She was born on Jan. 13, 1944, in Newton to Cecil and Hazel
(Coulson) McFarlane.
She was a devoted mother who put those she loved first.
She is survived by her daughter, Amber Brown of Newton;
sisters, Ann Brooks of Newton, Eleanor Sadowski of Holton and Jo Gheen of
Redding, Calif.; brothers, Jim McFarlane and his wife Nancy of Newton, and K.C.
McFarlane and his wife Leora of Fort Worth, Texas; former husband, Charlie
Brown of Newton; step-daughter, Kim Hamel and her husband Rick of Wichita; two
step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother,
Jack McFarlane.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Petersen
Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Grace Community Church
with Pastors Dave Reimer and Jim Horning officiating.
Memorial donations can be made to the National Alliance on
Mental Illness-Mid Kansas in care of Petersen Funeral Home in Newton.
