Raymond Balzer
WHITEWATER - Raymond Balzer, 86, died
Sunday (Dec. 17, 2006) at Newton Medical Center. He was born Sept. 9,
1920, in rural Harvey County to Isaac and Emma (Harms) Balzer. He
married Pauline Schroeder Aug. 10, 1943, in Mountain Lake, Minn. He
was a member of Grace Hill Mennonite Church and was a farmer and
stockman. He was a lifelong rural Whitewater resident and a strong
family man. Survivors include his wife, Pauline Balzer of rural
Whitewater; son, David and Donna Balzer of of rural Whitewater;
daughter, Kay and Arlie Schroeder of rural Newton; grandchildren, Amy
and Clark Baker of El Centro, Calif., Brian Balzer of Hesston, Leslie
and Jody Hadley of Newton, and Justin Schroeder of rural Newton;
sisters, Beathene Harms of Moundridge, Laura and Henry Janzen of
North Newton, and Wilma Harms of Newton; and brother, Arthur Balzer
of North Newton.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m.
today at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel in Newton. Family will greet
friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Burial will be at 10 a.m. at Grace Hill
Mennonite Church Cemetery in rural Whitewater.
Services will follow the burial at 11
a.m. at Grace Hill Mennonite Church with Pastor James Voth of the
church officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Hill
Mennonite Church in care of the funeral home.
