Rita Ellen Slifer
HESSTON - Rita Ellen Slifer, 78, died Thursday (Dec. 10,
2009) at Schowalter Villa in Hesston. She was born on July 8, 1931, in Dallas
Center, Iowa, the daughter of Rudy Earl and Elta Runte Royer. She was a
homemaker. She previously lived in Newton, and had lived in Hesston the last 10
years. She was of the Mennonite faith. In 1955, she married Galen Slifer. He
survives and lives in Kansas City. Other survivors include two daughters, Gaye
Pilgrim of Wheatland, Mo., and Anne Slifer; a sister, Evelyn Argabright of
Topeka; and six grandchildren.
Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Schowalter
Villa. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Schowalter Villa.
Burial will be in Dallas Center, Iowa.
