Marie H. Wedel
Marie H. Wedel, 92, of North Newton, died Monday (Oct. 5,
2009) at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. She was born on Sept. 25, 1917, in
Moundridge to Jacob D. and Adina Kaufman Schrag. She married Waldo W. Wedel on
July 22, 1938, in Moundridge. He died Dec. 10, 1941. She married Arnold C.
Wedel on May 11, 1968, in Moundridge. He died Sept. 12, 1999. She was a retired
employee of the Peoples State Bank in McPherson and Kansas State Bank in
Newton. She is survived by a son, Tony (Mim) Wedel of McPherson; stepson,
Anthony (Marlene) Wedel of Olathe; five grandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren.
The graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at
Restlawn Gardens of Memory in Newton, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m.
at Bethel College Mennonite Church in North Newton.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Moundridge
Funeral Home in Moundridge, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorial donations are suggested to Bethel College Mennonite
Church in care of the funeral home.
