Obituary

Johnny Heidebrecht Jr., 71, died Tuesday (Oct. 31, 2017) at Via Christi St. Joseph's Hospital, Wichita.

He was born Oct. 16, 1946, in Halstead to John O. and Anna E. (Regehr) Heidebrecht.

He was a lifelong area resident and farmer. He also worked as a hired hand for McGinn Farms.

He served in the U.S. Army National Guard as a firefighter.

He was a member of First Mennonite Church, Halstead, and was a member of Hicks-Davison American Legion Post 268, Sedgwick.

He is survived by a daughter, Shelly (Kurt) Riffel, Newton; sister, Mary Ann (Donald) Drum, Sedgwick; and nephew, Chester L. Drum, Singapore, Singapore.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 5, 2017) and funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday (Nov. 6 2017), both at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.

Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Bentley.

Memorials may be given to Hicks-Davison American Legion Post 268 Scholarship Fund in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
